Privacy Policy

1) Purpose:

This Website Privacy Policy describes how your Personal Information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or use our website https://www.iteraterecruitment.com/ (the “Site”).

By using our Site, you are accepting the terms of this privacy policy, and you are consenting to our collection, use, disclosure, retention and protection of your Personal Information as described in this privacy policy.

2) Your Personal Information:

2.1 WHAT IS PERSONAL INFORMATION

The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) currently defines “Personal Information” as meaning information or an opinion about an identified individual or an individual who is reasonably identifiable:

  • whether the information or opinion is true or not; and
  • whether the information or opinion is recorded in a material form or not.

If the information does not disclose your identity or enable your identity to be ascertained, it will in most cases not be classified as “Personal Information” and will not be subject to this privacy policy.

2.2 PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

The kind of personal information that we collect from you will depend on how you use the website. When you apply for a position through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, email address, phone number, and resume. We refer to this information as “Candidate Information.”

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

  • “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier.
  • “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
  • “Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Candidate Information that identify you or could identify you.

2.3 HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

All Personal Information collected will only be used in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and the Australian Privacy Principles, as well as the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Personal Information will only be used by us for the primary purpose that it was collected or for a related purpose.

We use the Candidate Information that we collect generally to fulfill any available position placed through the Site. Additionally, we use this Candidate Information to:

  • Communicate with you;
  • Pass your information to clients and partners, such as employers or prospective employers; and
  • When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our clients and candidates browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. For example, we use Google Analytics to help us understand how our clients and candidates use the Site. You can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/. You can also opt-out of Google Analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

2.4 BEHAVIOURAL ADVERTISING

As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you.
You can opt out of some of these services by using the optout option in the communication.

3) Your Rights:

3.1 YOUR RIGHTS UNDER THE LEGISLATIONS

Under the Australian Privacy Principle, you are permitted to obtain access to the Personal Information we hold about you in certain circumstances. You are also allowed to correct any Personal Information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading, subject to certain exceptions. If you would like to obtain such access, please contact us as set out below.

Your Personal Information may be transferred overseas or stored overseas for a variety of reasons. It is not possible to identify each and every country to which your Personal Information may be sent. If your Personal Information is sent to a recipient in a country with data protection laws which are at least substantially similar to the Australian Privacy Principles, and where there are mechanisms available to you to enforce protection of your Personal Information under that overseas law, we will not be liable for a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles if your Personal Information is mishandled in that jurisdiction. If your Personal Information is transferred to a jurisdiction which does not have data protection laws as comprehensive as Australia’s, you consent to us transferring your personal information to such jurisdiction in the knowledge that if your personal information is mishandled in that jurisdiction, we disclaim responsibility and you will not have a remedy under Australian law.

In some circumstances, the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) provides additional protection to individuals located in Europe. The fact that you may be located in Europe does not, however, on its own entitle you to protection under the GDPR. Our website does not specifically target customers located in the European Union and we do not monitor the behaviour of individuals in the European Union, and accordingly the GDPR does not apply.

3.3 DO NOT TRACK
Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

3.4 DATA RETENTION
When you register or apply to a position through the Site, we will maintain your Candidate Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

4) Changes:

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
